On Loops for guitar II (2024)

This short piece was commissioned by Ondrej Veselý during our stay at the Ostrava Days Festival. Veselý suggested that it should be based on the Bach Chaconne.

In this regard the result is on one hand related to my series Monadologies, which is based on overwriting existing pieces (Überschreibung). On the other hand it belongs to the series of loop-pieces I wrote lately, which focus on a new kind of loop-counterpoint: several layers of loops happen simultaneiously, which forces the player to handle different timelines together, like a schizophrenic setup.

This results in a hyperviruosic counterpointal texture.
