Loops for Hába (2022)

Dedicated to Miroslav Beinhauer

Miroslav Beinhauer, who had already played my piano concerto, commissioned this piece for Sixth-Tone-Harmonium and also introduced me to the instrument. I had already heard his solo recital on Sixth-Tone-Harmonium at Ostrava Days 2021. Furthermore I had studied Habas theory of Harmony, after Georg Friedrich Haas had introduced me to his work in the 1980ties.

The piece itself is based on loop-construction, using a kind of loop counterpoint inspired by Philip Jecks multi-turntable counterpoint. The piece is also structurally related to Organ-Loops Vol.1.
